Lifestyle Enhancement

John Marshall Irvin is the founding President of Lifestyle Enhancement Services, a successful motivational, training and speaking firm. John holds his degree from the University of Tulsa and has been active in creating opportunities for personal and professional development for over twenty five years. He has earned Certified Speaking Professional (C.S.P.) recognition from the National Speakers Association. C.S.P. is the only professional recognition offered by the National Speakers Association and has been achieved by only 8% of its 3000 members.

John's purpose is clear. Each program that he presents sends the clear message that each of us is capable of achieving great things, that we can do more and be more than what we currently are, and most importantly, we can have great fun while doing it. After all, all work and no play makes Jack (and Jill) suicidal!

He began his career in "front line" social work with a vocational training program for "at risk" adolescents. During his time there, he co-created a counseling program that took students on "high challenge"outings such as backpacking, rock climbing and canoeing. He led several of these groups on bicycling trips across the state of Oklahoma.

He was Coordinator for Health Promotion for the Hillcrest Exercise and Lifestyle Program, the first hospital based program of its kind in the nation. There, John coordinated and facilitated health education and behavior modification programs, enhancing self-health awareness for corporate and community clients.

He worked with the Tulsa County Superintendent of Schools as Director for the Tulsa County ROPES Course. John led over 10,000 individuals through that program of team and leadership development. He worked closely with corporations, hospitals, treatment facilities, schools and other organizations to develop an adventure program that would meet the needs of those specialized clients.

Today, John speaks to thousands annually on the topics of Hilarity Therapy, creativity and team building. He has authored two joke books, Chicken Poop In My Bowl, and Chicken Poop In Your Bowl, II. He is also a contributing author in the two anthologies, Possibilities, Awakening Your Leadership Potential and Possibilities II, Lessons From The Heart.

His current professional affiliations are the National Speakers Association, the National Speakers Association - Oklahoma (past president), the Green Country Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development, the American Association for Therapeutic Humor, The Humor and Health Institute, Project Adventure, the Association for Experiential Education and the International Jugglers Association.
