Kent Rader

REDUCE
stress with HUMOR

Kent Rader is a professional speaker, author, and comedian. He helps companies and associations wanting to be successful by reducing stress through laughter. Having spent twelve years as CFO and CEO of hospitals and five years in public accounting, Kent has experienced the stress of today's business world first hand. In 1998 Kent became a professional speaker so he could share the importance of laughter in combating stress. "Regardless of the source of my stress, whether it be work or home," Kent says, "humor seemed to be an important tactic to changing my perspective."

Kent found his true calling when he began to help people reduce stress by making them laugh. Kent states, "I told my son after September 11, 2001, I was born to do this. I would rather die at 45 having made people laugh than live to be 100 doing accounting... but then, who wouldn't?" In 2002, Kent published his stress reduction book titled "Let It Go, Just Let It Go." Consumed with making people laugh, Kent began working in comedy clubs that same year in order to improve his already gifted sense of humor.

Today Kent takes participants in a journey that audience members will not want to end. It begins with Kent showing people how the origins of their stressful feelings are derived and how humor is a proven tool in combating these feelings. He offers practical ways to include more humor in your life, along with stories that are guaranteed to make any audience laugh.

Using Kent's recommendation produces genuine results like reducing stress, increased employee retention, improved creative problem solving skills, better cooperation and collaboration within a team or company, as well as making an organization more successful. One participant from a hospital may have said it best. "I laughed so hard, my face hurt! Aren't we lucky Kent chose to leave accounting to develop this wonderful gift?"

“I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciated your presentation at our spring
workshop. My phone is still ringing off the hook with people just singing your praises.

Your stories kept us on the edge of our seats. On Monday, when I returned to my facility,

I was asked in the morning department head meeting about my trip. I could honestly say, without hesitation, it was by far the best seminar I have ever attended. I said as a group we were able to talk together, laugh together, and even cry together. I look forward to our paths crossing again.”

Debbie Tilly of the Tennessee Dietary Managers’ Association

Kent Rader has presented programs throughout the United States to healthcare and educational organizations wanting to make a positive difference in the lives of the people they serve. This is what participants have to say about Kent Rader:

You are gifted speaker and storyteller with the rare ability to blend humor and meaningful content. There are many speakers who can do one or the other, but few who can deliver both. Many staff members have stopped by my office to express their appreciation for your talk. They were obviously moved by your warm and genuine style. It is no small accomplishment to share the podium with nationally recognized speakers, as you did, and to have made such a strong impression on our audience. Congratulations on a job well done!” _

Gerald Kelly, Director of the Supportive Care Nursing Conference

“I truly enjoyed the opportunity to meet you and appreciated the contemporary, yet timeless message of your speech. The parents and student thoroughly enjoyed your speech. Many of them complimented your humor at the dinner later in the evening. Even the CEO of our major teaching hospital found himself laughing.”

Kristin Stutz, Director of Medical Education at Texas Tech University School of Medicine, Amarillo, TX

"Wow, what a success. As you can see from the evaluation results, our group loved you! Thank you for a fun and thought-provoking morning. Your message is straight from the heart: Take care of your employees and they'll take care of you. You sent us back to work with many ideas to ponder, about honesty and integrity, about creating an open, caring environment, about creating shared goals for the future, and much more. I'll be looking foward to working with you more in the future"

Gay Kimble, Director of Human Resources, Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital, El Dorado, KS
