Truly “A Dynamic Acoustic Duo”, Rick and Paul combine strong vocals, intricate guitar leads, solid rhythmic patterns to produce a unique and vibrantly full sound. Veteran performers, each with many years of experience, they have entertained hundreds since combining their talents in January of 2005.
Rick & Paul’s song list is as extensive as their musical careers. With selections spanning from the 1960’s to the present, they have the ability to please a wide range of audiences. They cover many styles of artist such as The Beatles, The Eagles, Steve Ray Vaughn, Pearl Jam, Travis Tritt, Santana, Steely Dan, Lynard Skynard and Bruce Springstein to name a few. They write and perform their own style of music.
“I can’t believe all that music comes from just two guy’s” and “How do they make an acoustic guitar sound like that?” are just two quotes heard by many of Rick and Paul’s performances. No matter how they do it, Rick and Paul are a “must see” act that will amaze and entertain you. Rick and Paul truly are “A Dynamic Acoustic Duo”.
Rick Dawson demonstrated an immediate talent for the guitar at age 5, the gift was quite apparent when he had the opportunity to play with James Burdon, lead guitarist for Elvis at the ripe age of 11. Rick has recorded albums with Country Music Hall Winners as well as members of "Toto". In addition to abilities as a talent guitarist Rick is Also a proficient bassist and drummer.
Paul Speck started taking classical piano training and performed at recitals when he was 7 years old. At age 12, a cousin introduced Paul to the guitar and a year later he formed his first band. Throughout his career, Paul has performed many styles of music; rock, pop, country, soul, disco, jazz and heavy metal. He has performed with members of Blue Oyster Cult and Overkill. Paul's many years of experience have molded him into a well-seasoned musician and proficient guitarist.
